PRIVACY NOTICE · 30 SEPTEMBER 2026
Your manuscript and data, handled with care.
This notice explains how Narrate processes personal data and audiobook materials. It is designed around the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. It is product information, not legal advice.
What we collect
We process your account details, manuscript title and text, narrated audio, voice-selection choices, and generation status. If you choose voice cloning, your voice sample is sent directly to our speech-generation provider to create the clone; the application does not store that sample in its R2 media storage.
Why we use it
We use this information to create and deliver your audiobook, keep it in your private library, provide account support, secure the service, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell manuscript text, narration audio, or personal data.
Storage, access, and sharing
Chapter text is stored with your account. Narration audio is kept in private object storage and delivered through time-limited links. Anyone with a listening link or QR code that you deliberately create can access the shared audiobook; do not publish a share link unless that is intended. We use service providers needed to operate narration, voice generation, and storage.
Your choices and rights
You can access your library and manage what you share. Under Kenyan data-protection law, you may request information about the use of your personal data, access it, object to processing, ask for correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion where applicable. Use the Contact page to submit a privacy request. If processing involves a transfer outside Kenya, the operator must use the safeguards or consent required by applicable law.
Security and retention
We limit access to authenticated accounts and use private storage paths and signed download links for media. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain account and library data while your account is active or as needed for the service and lawful obligations; deletion requests are assessed in line with applicable law and operational requirements.
Questions or complaints
Contact Narrate first so we can help. You may also raise a concern with Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
